Germany's nursing shortage is one of the largest in Europe, and the country actively recruits qualified nurses from India. To work as a registered nurse (Pflegefachkraft), your Indian nursing qualification must be recognised through the German Anerkennung process, and you must reach B2 German. Once recognised, you can take up employment in hospitals, clinics and care facilities.
Note: the nursing recruitment market is largely served by free-to-candidate recruiters funded by German employers. We recommend exploring those routes first. This page exists to help you understand the process — and to point physiotherapists and 12th-pass students to the specialised routes where we add the most value.
